COLLEGIATE GOLF FANS GET A CRASH COURSE WITH GOLFWEEK'S COLLEGE PREVIEW

ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2015) — As the professional golf season winds down, Golfweek is gearing up for the fast-approaching college season with the release of its annual College Preview. The special Sept. 7 issue covers all aspects of the collegiate game – from the evolving NCAA Championship format to the best collegiate courses to the stories behind the top players and teams to watch – arming college golf fans with everything they need to know for the upcoming season.

"To many golfers, fall might signal the beginning of the end of their season," said Golfweek Editor Steve Harmon. "In this annual College Preview Issue, we profile Stanford's Maverick McNealy, an extraordinary talent on the course and off, and we catch up on the practice tee with Purdue's renowned teacher Devon Brouse. These stories give readers a preview of the talent and commitment in the college game as we start the road to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Championships next spring."

Highlights of Golfweek's 2015 College Preview include:

  • An exclusive profile of Haskins Award recipient and Stanford player Maverick McNealy, a top collegiate golfer who has more interest in business than turning pro
  • A "For Your Game" instruction feature that showcases Purdue Women's Head Coach Devon Brouse, along with one of the Boilermakers' top golfers August Kim, as they demonstrate the drills the team uses to help shave strokes off their scoring averages
  • College golf expert Lance Ringler examines a disconnect in collegiate play – delving into why there are so few match-play tournaments in the regular season despite the format being used at the NCAA Championships
  • The Forecaddie's take on what's in store for Duke's next season as Celine Boutier and Leona Maguire return to the Blue Devils in an unprecedented pairing of former national champions
  • The 2015 Golfweek's Best Campus Courses list, which ranks the top 30 collegiate courses across the country
  • Need-to-know updates on next season's teams and individual players, coaching changes and leading freshmen

Building on the magazine's in-depth coverage, Golfweek.com will be posting preview capsules and commentary on the top 30 men's and women's teams, tournament schedules, player rankings, top freshmen to watch and more.

"Covering every level of the game has been Golfweek's commitment since the beginning," said Golfweek Publisher Jereme Day. "College golf is something we're excited about and following all year long, but we really look forward to our annual College Preview Issue where we can place the collegiate game front and center to show just how important it is to the sport."
