GOLFWEEK LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE 'TOY BOX'

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 22, 2014) — Golfweek today announced the official launch of the Toy Box online – a new subsite dedicated to all things golf equipment. Featuring expert commentary, product overviews and complete story archives, Golfweek.com/ToyBox provides golf gearheads with a user-friendly, one-stop shop for the latest golf equipment news and information.

"Golf companies are pushing equipment innovation to levels never before seen in our industry, and the golfer is the beneficiary," said Golfweek Editor Jeff Babineau. "There's great interest in the latest gear that the tour pros are using, and there's great curiosity about the many new products in the marketplace, so we'll apply our expertise and expand what we do in Golfweek print to keep our online audience both educated and informed."

Driven by Golfweek's team of equipment experts, which includes senior writers David Dusek and James Achenbach, Golfweek.com/ToyBox features:

  • Top equipment headlines to provide readers with the news they need in real time
  • Videos, blogs and photos to serve up an inside look at what's in play, what's in store and what should be in your bag
  • The Gearcaddie search tool to facilitate easy research of the latest gear to hit the market (sortable by both brand name and category)
  • A Gear Gallery section to offer a sneak peek inside the golf bags of the game's top players

Golfweek.com's new equipment section is just the latest addition to Golfweek's expanding suite of equipment-focused offerings. Earlier this year, Golfweek debuted the weekly Toy Box Extra e-magazine – a slick, digital-only edition that delivers product profiles, winner's bag highlights, industry trends and more directly to the inboxes of opt-in subscribers. Each of Golfweek's new equipment assets builds upon the success of the magazine's popular mainstay, Toy Box, which continues to be featured in every issue of Golfweek.

"The equipment category is a real driving force in the game of golf," said Golfweek Publisher Jereme Day. "Everyone wants to know about the latest, greatest products on the market and on the horizon, and we're meeting that demand head-on by finding innovative ways to incorporate more in-depth, comprehensive coverage of the category into everything we do."
